We are asking for your support in making the this year's G.L.O.W. 5K Run/Walk for Reading, a successful event!
Since 1996, the Jeanine Nicarico Memorial Fund for Literacy, a 501(c)(3) not for profit organization, has been dedicated to enhancing literacy for our students and community. The Fund has awarded over $350,000 in grants to private and public schools in Naperville Districts 203 and 204, which includes portions of Bolingbrook, Lisle and Aurora.
As a sponsor, your generous donation will be publicly acknowledged through promotional announcements, flyers, our website and race shirt. Grants awarded since 1996 by our Fund include:
Initial grant and annual funding of the "Born to Read" program for parents of newborns at Edward Hospital
Author in Residence programs for individual elementary and middle schools
Funding for teachers to attend recognized Literacy conferences/workshops
Varied pre-school literacy programs in both school Districts
Provided resources to Special Education/English Language Learners (ELL) programs to increase literacy involvement between the home and school
Literacy/technology grants at the elementary through high school levels
